Michelle & Chad

Earlier this year, the Wallaces asked me to take a few photos of them. They’re some of our closest friends, so they’re often the subject of my photo-a-day project. This was the first time we did a planned session. We went to Capitol Hill where a lot of trees and flowers were blooming. As always, they were fun to work with and made it easy to produce some really good photos. Thanks, Wallaces!

CJ

I wrote about shooting the Erbs earlier this week. It made me realize that I never wrote about doing newborn shots of CJ. My only regret from this shoot is I hadn’t read Kelli Brewer’s post on postprocessing newborn shots. This was my first time photographing a newborn and I was a bit nervous. Fortunately, Jenny joined me and helped me in posing and keeping the baby content. That said, I hope you enjoy a few shots from this great session!

Kristen & Johnny

In June, I had the opportunity to shoot a wedding with Kelli Brewer. I’ve been hesitant to shoot a wedding because it’s a high-pressure situation. Moments happen and if I don’t capture them, it’s nearly impossible (not to mention unpractical and unprofessional) to try and restage the scene. However, being a second shooter at a wedding isn’t nearly as stressful and I really wanted to get my feet wet. Between the bride, groom, and Kelli, I could not have asked for a better experience. I showed up at Johnny’s hotel room to take a few shots of him and his groomsmen getting ready. I then joined Kelli at the venue to prepare to shoot the ceremony. Below are a few shots from the day. Again, I can’t emphasize how much fun I had. Thank you Kristen, Johnny, and Kelli!!!

(Be sure to check out Kelli’s post and her photos from the wedding!)
